Welcome to NotesNet (“we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application NotesNet (the “App”). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

Account Registration: Name, username, email address, and password when you create an account.
Profile Information: Address or other optional profile details you choose to provide.
Feedback & Support: Messages you send through the in-app feedback form or via email.

b) Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data: Pages/screens visited, features used, actions performed (e.g., document downloads, logins).
Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
Log Data: Error logs and crash reports to help us improve app stability.

c) Guest Mode

If you use the App in Guest Mode, no account is created. Notes created in Guest Mode are stored locally on your device only and are not transmitted to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To provide access to documents, blogs, and app features.
To send password reset emails when requested.
To respond to your feedback and support requests.
To analyze usage patterns and improve the App (analytics are aggregated and anonymized where possible).
To detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest). We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers: Supabase (database & authentication), used solely to operate the App.
Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
Business Transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred with prior notice.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is soft-deleted (marked as deleted) and permanently purged within 30 days. Local Guest Mode notes are deleted when you clear the app data or uninstall the App.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent).

NotesNet is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
